What’s even the point of having bounty hunters as our protagonists if they never get a bounty? I don't know if this is a troll post or what, but I'll address your criticisms one by one.

It's easy to make a show about badass bounty hunters getting bounties, but making a show about the bounty hunters as characters and their lives outside of their job is a bit more complex. I also wanted more successful bounties (there's one at the start of ep 8 where Spike is getting the payment for a previous bounty at the bank), but I think it's actually a show about the problems associated with that life. I want to SEE them get a bounty, that’s what I watch for. IDK man, "absent black dad" is a glaring racial stereotype I'm surprised the live action went with it, since it's supposedly more left-leaning than the anime. The black father being absent in the child’s life makes more sense to me, and it’s a great take on the issue. I agree that Jet’s backstory in anime is good. when Faye gives Spike Julia's message to "meet me at the place" despite her visible hesitation to do it and her debatable jealousy of Julia, b/c she knows Julia is in danger). Anime Faye is just a lot more prickly, which is understandable (not excusable) considering her backstory, and Faye shows her good side as the anime goes on (e.g. TBF, I also disliked Faye for most of the anime until I really understood what her deal was.īesides, I also like live-action Faye, but both she and anime Faye are sassy/snarky, smart, and funny. They even team up to make fun of Jet while he's sick in "Toys in the Attic". Interestingly, I consider her to basically be a more feminine Spike (or Spike might be a masculine Faye), and I think that's why they are so drawn to each other despite clashing a lot. Still, doesn’t change the fact that Faye is sooo annoying Faye is hilarious in live action unlike her irritating counterpart, and Jet’s backstory with his daughter is far more interesting as well, and it makes sense, if you know what I mean.😉Īnyway, I was hoping to have some civil discourse to see if anyone could change my mind. And the end… The plot twist! You can’t tell me that anime trash is better. It was so enthralling and stimulating, seeing how things progressed with all of its twists and turns. The live action carried over many problems that the anime had, but the story between Spike, Vicious, and Julia carried it. Ed is an annoying little shit, and fuck dogs so fuck Ein. Do they just expect us to know what happened? What the fuck? Faye is just a bitch and Jet is the only decent guy.

What’s even the point of having bounty hunters as our protagonists if they never get a bounty? Who wants to watch a show full of losers? Plus they never give us any backstory with Spike and the syndicate. Literally nothing makes sense in the anime.
